On Wednesday, 10 people, including a child, were killed in incidents of landslides at different places due to continuous rains in Uttar Pradesh. 11 Po was injured.
Heavy rains lashed Chandrapura village under Civil Lines Police Constabulary of Edawah district on Wednesday night. Four children namely Singhu (10), Abhi (8), Sonu (7) and Arthi (5) died when the roof of a house collapsed. Two others including their grandmother Santini Devi (70) were injured.
Similarly, in Kribalpur village under Ektil police jurisdiction, a petrol station roof collapsed and fell on a cottage due to heavy rain. In this, Ram Sanehi (65) and his wife Reshma Devi (62) who lived in that hut died.
Jab Singh (35) was killed when the roof of a house collapsed due to heavy rains in Chaknagar area of Etawah district.
Shivam (6) died after the roof of his house collapsed due to heavy rain in Banshinagar of Ferozabad district. 8 people were rescued with fatal injuries and admitted to hospital. Similarly, Ishaq Ali (57) was killed when a vehicle collapsed in Nagla Khawe. Ashraf (13) died after being struck by lightning in Bhagwa Saif village of Balrampur district. His relative was injured.
Regarding these incidents, the respective area police have registered a case and are investigating.
