90s song ‘Pyaar Ki Ganga Bahae’ by Bollywood stars promoting peace and harmony has gone viral IG News

Amid rising communal riots in Haryana, a powerful message of unity and peace is making waves on social media through an old Doordarshan song “Pyaar Ki Ganga Bahae”. Directed by renowned filmmaker Subhash Ghai, the song was released in 1993 with an aim to promote brotherhood and communal harmony.

Subhash Ghai reveals the inspiration behind the making of this cult song. He pointed out that the country was grappling with the situation after the Babri Masjid demolition and the atmosphere was tense. People were tragically losing their lives in communal clashes, due to which the whole country was very upset.

During the making of a film, Ghai received a call from a secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The officer sought cooperation from the film industry to convey the message of brotherhood to the people. Without hesitation, Subhash Ghai agreed to take on the responsibility of creating a song that could potentially bridge divides and promote understanding between communities.

As the song “Pyaar Ki Ganga Bahae” resurfaces on social media platforms, its message of unity, integrity and communal peace is finding a home in the hearts of the masses. At a time when tensions are running high and divisions threaten to tear communities apart, this song is a poignant reminder of the power of art and music to bring people together.

The video features superstars of those years Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi and many others singing for the children and asking them to promote peace and communal harmony.

The video resurfaced on the internet after the ongoing communal clashes in Haryana.
