CHENNAI: Both factions of AIADMK have sought BJP’s support in the Erode by-election. The BJP is struggling to make a decision as it is not yet certain which AIADMK team will get the double leaf symbol. The BJP is said to be planning to support only the AIADMK team which has a double leaf. Even though AIADMK has said that it will contest, most of the administrators are insisting that BJP should contest in today’s meeting. Annamalai had already said that AIADMK, the largest party in the alliance, would contest the by-elections.
