The Excise Department, sometimes with a joint team of the police, is running a campaign against illegal raw liquor in the district, raiding suspected village Prem Nagar, where two people were arrested with 30 liters of raw liquor, and 50 kg of lahan was destroyed. By order of Excise Commissioner, U.P. and under the direction of Joint Excise Commissioner, Agra Zone, Agra and under the supervision of District Excise Officer, Sudhir Kumar Farrukhabad, today on 24/08/2023 in the district Excise Inspector Zone-2 Rajesh Kumar Choubey, May Staff and Mandi Chowki incharge Krishna Kumar Kashyap, Kotwali-Kayamganj, May staff raided suspicious village- Prem Nagar.

About 50 kg of Lahan was destroyed during the raid, and 30 liters of illegal raw liquor was recovered and two charges were registered. Action was taken to arrest 02 accused and send them to jail. In the district, Excise Inspector Zone-3 Sachin Tripathi, May Staff and Police SI Asha Ram Goyal and SI Hari Ram Kotwali Mohammadabad, May Staff raided the suspected village Takipur. During the raid, 20 liters of illegal raw liquor was recovered and charges were registered.

Action was taken to arrest 02 accused and send them to jail, before this the shops in the area were inspected. A surprise inspection of local English and beer shops in the area was carried out. Verification of barcode/QR code, lid, seal, label etc. was done on the accumulated stock during the inspection. Instructions were given to make 100% sales through POS machines. During raids and shop inspections, the people present on the spot were also made aware of the ill-effects of consumption of illegal liquor. Enforcement work will continue continuously for prevention of transportation.
