The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court TY Chandrachud has said that the list containing the words that should not be used during judgments and court hearings will be published soon.

In this regard, in a recent program held on behalf of the Gender Equality Awareness and Grievance Committee of the Supreme Court in Delhi, she said:

Inappropriate behavior towards women, use of inappropriate language will not be tolerated. In some court rulings, judges have referred to the English word ‘concubine’ to refer to women who have relationships without marriage. It is an inappropriate word. If such matters are not dealt with openly, it will be difficult for us to grow as a society.

With this in mind, a list of sexist words that judges should not use during judgments and court hearings is soon to be published.

He said that it should be ensured that there is punishment for misbehaving with women and using inappropriate words against them.
