Due to unseasonal rain in Uttarakhand, people are facing a lot of problems, farmers as well as animal husbandry are also suffering from bad weather. Fruit cultivation has suffered a lot due to rains in the hilly areas. On the other hand, a case of death of around 350 goats due to lightning strike in Uttarkashi’s Dunda block has come to light. As soon as the news of this accident was received, a team of Revenue Department, Animal Husbandry Department and SDRF reached the spot in the morning.

Let me tell you that this accident took place in Mathanu Tok forest near Khatukhal in Dunda block of Uttarkashi. According to the information received, the people of Barsu region go to the hilly areas with goats at the beginning of summer. On Saturday, villagers Rambhagat Singh, Pratham Singh and Sanjeev were coming towards the forests of the hill area with their around 1200 sheep and goats. When he reached near Mathanau Tok on the Khatukhal road of Dunda, suddenly the weather turned bad. In the meantime, lightning struck the sky. About 350 goats died due to lightning in the forest. According to Tehsildar Danda Pratap Singh Chauhan, there have been reports of death of goats due to lightning. In this regard, they have also informed the district administration and veterinary department.

Former district convener of BJP Jagmohan Singh Rawat says that often such accidents happen to cattle rearers but the cattle rearers do not get due compensation. He has demanded from the Chief Minister and Animal Husbandry Minister that due compensation should be given to the animal rearers. The villagers also reported this loss to Bhatwadi block president Vinita Rawat. While late evening there was heavy hailstorm in Dhanoli. Hailstorm has caused considerable damage to apricot, peach and pear crops. Due to this, the fruit growers are also suffering a lot.

In the forest where the herdsmen are suffering after seeing the dead bodies of 350 goats. Even the herdsmen’s eyes became moist as they stood in the midst of the pile of corpses, sniffing each one, finding their mother and calling out to her.
