Active recall is also known as practice testing. This allows you to get new information from your brain. It may seem strange but you will understand if practiced. Active recall is the process of preparing questions on a topic you are reading about and then re-examining yourself on those topics. In this technique the brain has to retrieve information again and again. This will never forget the topic. Your brain saves it in a different way than the normal way.
Active recall makes you understand concepts that you do not understand. It takes a lot of practice to answer questions. But with practice you can remember any information accurately. The same thing happens with the active recall technique. Much research has already been done on this technique. That said, it is a very useful technique to remember more information in less time. Articles published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology in 2010 confirm this.
Sometimes students do not like the active recall technique. Because reading the same thing over and over again can be difficult and boring. Make a list of short questions from the topic you are reading. Then try to answer these questions when you revise that subject or topic. If you find something wrong then look in the book. Doing so will also increase memory.
