India reported more than 1,000 cases of Covid-19 in a single day after 129 days, while the number of patients under treatment rose to 5,915. A total of 1,071 new cases of Kovid-19 have been reported in the country within 24 hours, with three more deaths taking the death toll to 5,30,802, according to Union Health Ministry update data till 8 am on Sunday.
One patient each has died in Rajasthan and Maharashtra due to corona virus in the country. So one person has died due to Kovid-19 in Kerala. According to statistics, the total number of infected cases in India has reached 4,46,95,420. So the number of patients under treatment is 0.01 percent of the total infected cases, while the national recovery rate from Kovid-19 is 98.8 percent.
According to the ministry’s website, the number of people who have recovered from corona virus infection has increased to 4,41,58,703, while the death rate has been recorded at 1.19 percent. According to the website, under the nationwide vaccination campaign, 220.65 crore doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in the country so far.
New variant cases are coming up
Scientists believe that the sub-variant XBB 1.16 of the Covid-19 XBB variant may be the reason behind the recent surge in cases of the corona virus in India over the past few days. According to data released on Friday by an international platform that monitors variants, India has reported the highest number of cases of the XBB 1.16 variant of Corona. According to latest reports, 48 cases in India, 14 and 15 cases in Singapore and US respectively of XBB 1.16 variant have been reported.
