The Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet has approved the extension on contractual basis in the tenure of retired Indian Administrative Service officer Amit Khare as Advisor to the Prime Minister. He was an IS of Jharkhand cadre of 1985 batch. He has been granted extension of service on normal terms and conditions in the rank and scale of Secretary to the Government of India. The same rules apply in the case of re-employed officers of the level of Secretary in the Government of India. He has been given this extension of service for a period beyond October 12, 2023 along with the tenure of the Prime Minister or till further orders, whichever is earlier.
