New Delhi, September 20 (Language) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday praised the passing of ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Act’ in the Lok Sabha, saying that it will also promote equitable and gender-inclusive development in the country.

He said it would harness the power of women in shaping the destiny of the country.

Union Minister Shah also said that the bill to ensure reservation of one-third seats in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies for women will write a new chapter in the history of women empowerment.

It will strengthen the country’s parliamentary democracy by making laws and policies more gender-inclusive and effective, she said.

Shah has written on ‘X’, “I express my heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji for the Women’s Reservation Bill passed in the Lok Sabha today. It has changed the political discourse in our country.

Shah said that for centuries, women in India have shaped individuals, families, society and the economy with their caring, compassion and selfless contributions.

“The new bill will harness their power to shape the destiny of our nation,” he said.

The Home Minister said that it is a historic leap for the country as the Lok Sabha has passed the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Act’.

He said, “The bill envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not only write a new chapter in the history of women empowerment but will also promote equitable and gender-inclusive development in our country.”

Shah said this once again reiterates the Modi government’s commitment towards women-led governance.
