An IMF team traveled to Pakistan to discuss two different bailout packages.

An International Monetary Fund (IMF) team has arrived in Pakistan for an upcoming long-term loan project.

It should be noted that the IMF had previously called on Pakistan to take additional steps. This includes taxing pensions and scrapping exemptions. Additionally, half of the country’s GDP, i.e. 600 billion rupees, should be collected from the salaried and business strata.

Negotiations between the IMF and the government will begin today. And these negotiations are being conducted by the IMF support team, while two different bailout packages will be discussed.

According to sources, the IMF-led mission is likely to reach Pakistan on the night of May 16, while some members of the IMF mission have reached Pakistan for talks.

According to sources, the IMF delegation will discuss with Pakistan’s economic team regarding the loan. The support team receives information from various agencies. and will work on the budget together with officials of the Ministry of Finance

According to sources, the IMF mission will be in Pakistan for more than 10 days.
