The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased the price of electricity for Karachi by one rupee and 17 paise per unit.
According to the details, bad news has come for the people of Karachi, Nepra has increased the price of electricity for K Electric by one rupee 71 paise per unit, for other consumers across the country, the price has been increased by 48 paise per unit.
According to the notification of the National Electric and Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra), the price of electricity has been increased due to the monthly fuel adjustment for January.
According to Nepra, electricity has been increased by 48 paisa per unit for the rest of the consumers in the country except Karachi.
It should be remembered that yesterday the federal cabinet had approved to increase the price of electricity for the people of Karachi due to inflation. In a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the cabinet approved to increase the price of electricity for Karachi by 4 rupees 76 paise.
In the first quarterly adjustment of the current fiscal year, electricity was increased by Rs. 3 21 paise, while in the second quarter adjustment, electricity was increased by Rs. 1.55 paise per unit.
The said increase was made to maintain a uniform electricity tariff across the country. Additional collections from consumers will be made during March to May 2023.
