Karachi: A woman was sexually assaulted by a man in Federal B area of Karachi on Wednesday.
There have been incidents of sexual assault and harassment on several occasions in Karachi recently. In a recent incident, a woman was sexually assaulted in a suburb of Karachi.
In an area near Madina Masjid in Federal B Area Block 17, a burqa-clad woman was sexually assaulted by a man riding a motorcycle while crossing the road.
The incident, which took place at 10:55 am, was caught on camera. The culprit was clearly seen in the CCTV, and when the victim struggled and shouted for help, he got away easily.
Passers-by gathered when the incident was over, but the troublemaker fled before he could be caught.
The officers failed to apprehend the culprit again.
He claimed that neither the victim nor anyone else in the case has approached him to initiate an investigation.
He said footage from additional cameras in the vicinity is being collected.
Ever since the initial case of street harassment came to light, there has been an alarming trend of harassment of women in the city.

Police have detained the suspect in the Orangi Town incident, while the criminal responsible for the crimes in Johar is still on the run.
