Bangladesh bowlers work magic, beat Oman

Muscat: In the qualifying match of ICCT Twenty20, Bangladesh bowlers turned the map of the match and claimed the victory.

Bangladesh and Oman competed in the sixth match of the first round of the T20 World Cup, in which the Bengal Tigers won the toss and elected to bat first.

The Bengal Tigers managed just 153 runs in the allotted 20 overs and all their players returned to the pavilion. Bangladesh openers Mohammad Naeem (64) and Shakib Al Hasan (42) were the standout batsmen. Oman bowlers Bilal Khan and Fayyaz Butt led three players to the pavilion.

Cricket experts had predicted Oman’s victory given the low target of 154 runs and Oman’s batting line, but the Bangladesh spinners bowled brilliantly and turned the match around and won an incredible victory.

When the Oman team started batting in pursuit of the target, the start was not good. After the opener was out, no player could stay in front of the spinning balls of the Bangladeshi bowlers for long and was forced to return to the pavilion.

For Oman, Jatinder Singh was the standout batsman with 40 runs, while Kashyap Prajapati was second with 21 and Mohammad Nadeem was second with 14.
