Bazm-e-Urdu hosts Dubai Women’s Mushaira IG News

Dubai (UAE): The monthly meetings of Bazm-e-Urdu Dubai, which started last year, are now becoming a beautiful and unique tradition, and are gaining popularity in the literary circles of the Emirate.
This process is progressing successfully in the new year. The meeting for the month of January was unique in that it hosted the first of its kind feminist mushaira in the UAE, titled “Rang Sukhan”, which was held at the Niyaz Muslim Library of the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) and It was great Well received by the audience, and the poetess was highly appreciated.
The session was initiated by Tabish Zaidi, to which Rehan Khan, General Secretary of Bazm-e-Urdu, immediately joined online and addressed the audience.
Muskaan Syed Riaz took over the responsibility of Nizamat and one by one invited all the poetesses to come on stage and take their seats.
In his welcome address, Rehan Khan appreciated the organizers for organizing a unique session and starting the tradition of women’s Mushairas in UAE. He also informed the audience about the upcoming activities of Bazm Urdu including details of “Urdu Mela” to be held on 4th February 2023.
The names of the poets who participated in the mushaira are Dr. Wala Jamal Al-Asili, Kanwal Malik, Tarannum Ahmed, Ku. Maggie Asnani, Ms. Muskan Syed Riaz, Ms. Hina Abbas and Ms. Maria Aftab
In the introduction to Wala Jamal Al-Asili, the Nazima of Mushaira, Muskan Syed Riaz states that Alasili is Egyptian and attached to the Department of Philology at the University of Egypt and is proficient in the Urdu language and the author of several books. His literary services in the promotion of Urdu language have been highly appreciated in the literary circles of India and Pakistan and he has been honored with several awards.
Later, Sarwat Zahra Sahiba, Chairperson of the Mushaira, thanked all the attendees and women who participated in the Mushaira and expressed satisfaction over the role of Bazm-e-Urdu in increasing popularity of Urdu language in UAE.
Ehya Ul Islam Bhojpuri, the organizer of the monthly meetings, in his concluding remarks thanked Muskaan Syed Riaz, Kunwar Muhammad Saleem and Sarwat Zahra Sahiba for the excellent management of the Mushaira and informed the audience about the next meeting.
At the end of the Mushaira, certificates were awarded to all the poetesses by senior member of Bazm, Arif Siddiqui, the beautiful evening concluded with a group photo.
The guests were served tea and samosas as usual. The participants of this meet enjoyed this literary evening and returned home with many beautiful memories.
