New Delhi: Bilkis Bano’s rape conviction was released on August 15. Bilkis Bano appealed to the Supreme Court (Supreme Court of India) challenging the release of 11 people after long speculation about this. It is known that the application has been accepted by the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court will hear the application on December 13.

A division bench of Justice Ajay Rastogi and Justice Bela Trivedi will be heard on the basis of this application. It should be noted that on November 30, lawyer Shobha Gupta on behalf of Bilkis Bano mentioned this application to Chief Justice DY Chandrachud. Based on this application, the hearing will be held in the Supreme Court on November 13.

Note that in 2002, 11 people were sentenced to life imprisonment in Bilkis Bano rape case. Their sentences were commuted under Gujarat’s amnesty policy. And they were released on 15th August Independence Day. Since then, a lot of turmoil started in the national politics.
