BJP President JP Natta on Friday appointed Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bummy as the head of the Election Campaign Committee as the assembly elections are to be held in Karnataka later this year.
Union Minister Shoba Karandlaje has been appointed as the coordinator of the Election Management Committee, according to a statement released by the party’s National General Secretary Arun Singh.
The party has tried to strike a balance by appointing Pomi as the head of one group and Karandlaje as the general secretary of the other group.

Apart from them, former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa has also been appointed as a member of the committee.
The party has appointed Union Ministers from Karnataka and state unit leaders of the party as members in both the committees.
