The Election Commission announced during the day that assembly elections in Karnataka will be held in single phase on May 10 and counting of votes will be held on May 13. This election is being considered as the best platform for BJP vs Congress election battle before 2024 Lok Sabha. No political party has won a consecutive mandate in the state since 1985 and the BJP is desperate to rewrite history and retain its southern stronghold.
Dharmendra Pradhan, in-charge of the party in Karnataka, said, ‘Karnataka has given a hung house since 2004, but looking at the kind of atmosphere I am seeing in Karnataka this time, I can say that the BJP in Karnataka A majority will be found.
