The Tamil Nadu Congress has announced that it will stage a sit-in in the Assembly to condemn the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi.

Surat court sentenced Rahul Gandhi to 2 years imprisonment in the case of defaming Modi. Following this, it was announced that he would be disqualified from the post of MP.

A person convicted in a criminal case is disqualified under the Representation of the People Act, 1951. Now Rahul Gandhi has been disqualified in this category. Subsequently, the Wayanad constituency was declared vacant.

Congress leaders today announced a nationwide satyagraha protest against the move. Accordingly, this satyagraha protest was held from 10 am in the morning in front of the Gandhi statues and district Congress headquarters in all states starting from Delhi. The Congress party was protesting peacefully in different parts of the country.
