An Angus school was evacuated after an anonymous bomb threat was made at the school on Friday morning.
Police arrived at Angus Morrison Elementary School just after 11:30 a.m.
Simcoe Street School, home to approximately 650 students and staff, was immediately contained and secured.
After police mandated an evacuation, police searched the school and property for explosives.
A spokesperson for the Simcoe County District School Board said the school was temporarily evacuated at around 12:30 p.m. and students returned to class at around 1:15 p.m.
Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police Const. Katy Vicari said she did not know if the call was a hoax, but added, “Even a call from a child is considered factual.”
“When we checked, the school was evacuated and the surrounding roads were closed,” Vicari said.
The Nottawasaga OPP will continue their investigation.
