The police have arrested a henchman carrying a reward of Rs 10,000 for breaking into a businessman’s house in sector five of Vyas Colony and demanding a ransom of Rs 80 lakh. The henchman who asked for ransom had also talked to Rohit Godara for this. On July 17, operatives of Rohit Godara gang barged into the house of Laxminarayan Brahmin, a businessman living in number five sector of Vyas Colony. Lakshminarayan had gone to Delhi for business work. The miscreants made his wife Jhamku Devi talk to Rohit Godara over the phone and demanded a ransom of Rs 80 lakh. Threatened to kill him and his family members for not giving. After the incident, Laxman Singh Rathore, SHO of Vyas Colony police station and Deepak Yadav, head constable of cyber cell, were engaged in locating and searching for the accused.
Information was received about Pankaj Nayak, a resident of Subhashpura, a henchman of the gang, coming to Bikaner. The police arrested him at Baparda. His identification parade will be conducted in the Central Jail. The police had earlier arrested Jethusinh, Kishore Singh, Hariom Saraswat and Manoj Saraswat in this case. Kishore had provided mobile and SIM to Ratansingh and history sheeter Ratansingh resident of Palana and Manzoor alias Kisan resident of Bajju are absconding. Significantly, after the incident, the accused went to Nokha, Sanisar village to Bungadi, Osian, Jodhpur, Pali, Jalore, Sirohi, Abu Road to Barmer and Gujarat by putting fake number plates in the car. Pankaj was caught after coming to Bikaner from Gujarat.

Businessman Lakshminarayan Brahmin is originally from Kharda in Lunkaransar and works in Delhi. Rohit Godara had earlier called his relative Manoj, but he followed Laxman Singh by calling him Maldar. Even on the day of the incident, Manoj went from Gol Market in Vyas Colony sitting in a car with the accused and came back to Murti Circle telling Lakshminarayan’s house. Jethu Singh, Ratan Singh, Pankaj entered the house and Manzoor was sitting in the car. All three demanded ransom by threatening Lakshminarayan’s wife. Rohit had called up Laxminarayan in the past and threatened him for ransom.
