“Doctors working in hospitals run by the central government should prescribe generic medicine to patients.” Otherwise action will be taken’, the central government has warned.
In this regard, the Director of Central Health Services Dr. Atul Goyal has said:
Doctors working in central government hospitals, mental health centers under the central government health scheme and multidisciplinary treatment centers should prescribe only generic drugs to patients. Apart from this, strict action will be taken if it is found to be prescribing medicines of popular market companies.
Also ensure full control of entry of medical representatives into the hospital premises.
It has been informed that the hospital management should ensure that the doctors working under them properly follow this order.
