Today is the second day of the special session of Parliament. From today, Parliament proceedings will be held in the new Parliament House. Earlier, while addressing the special session of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the MPs and countrymen on Ganesh Chaturthi. He said that today in the new Parliament House we all are going together to create Shri Ganesh of the new future. Today, we are moving towards the new building here with the intention of reiterating the resolve of a developed India, being determined and working whole-heartedly to fulfill it.
PM Modi said that this building and also this central hall is full of our emotions. It also makes us emotional and motivates us for our duties. He said that after 1952, about 41 heads of state of the world have addressed all our honorable MPs in this Central Hall. Addresses have been given here by all our Presidents 86 times.
During the special session of Parliament, the PM said, ‘My prayer and suggestion is that when we are moving to the new Parliament House, its (old Parliament House) dignity should never be diminished. Just leave it by calling it ‘Old Parliament House’, it should not be like this. If you all agree, then in future it should be known as ‘Samvidhan Sadan’….’
He said that over the years, Parliament has also enacted laws providing justice to transgenders. Through this, we have also taken steps towards providing jobs, education, health and other facilities to transgenders with harmony and respect. Apart from this, today Jammu and Kashmir has embarked on the path of peace and development and with new zeal, new enthusiasm and new determination, the people there do not want to miss any opportunity to move forward.
PM Modi said that in this House we took an important step to get rid of Article 370 and fight against separatism and terrorism. Honorable MPs and Parliament have a huge role in this work. The Constitution made in this House was implemented in Jammu and Kashmir.
On the contribution of the youth of India, the PM said that the way the youth of India are progressing in the world of technology today, they are becoming a center of attraction and acceptance for the entire world. He said that in the 25 years of Amritkal, India will now have to work on a bigger canvas. We should first fulfill the goal of making a self-reliant India.
He said that we now have to work towards becoming the best in the world in the manufacturing sector. Our designs, our software, our agricultural products, our handicrafts, we now have to move forward with the intention of surpassing global standards in every field. We have to move forward by paying close attention to every little thing. We also have to take right decisions at the right time for the future. We cannot hold ourselves captive to the multiplication of political gains and losses. We have to take new decisions with courage for the aspirations of the country.
PM said that social justice is our first condition. Without social justice, without balance, without equality we cannot achieve results. But the discussion of social justice has remained very limited. We have to look at it in a comprehensive manner. He said that the eastern part of the country is full of prosperity, but the youth there have to go to other areas for employment. We have to change this situation and also strengthen social justice by making the eastern part of the country prosperous.
He said that India is emerging as a stable supply chain for the world today. Today this is the need of the world and India has done the work of fulfilling that need by becoming the voice of the Global South in the G-20. In the end he said that today we are going to bid farewell from here and sit in the new building of Parliament and it is very auspicious that we are sitting there on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi.
