Churchill named one of the “Greatest Places in the World” by Time Magazine – Winnipeg IG News

Irshadgul News report,

The city of Manitoba is being recognized by Time magazine as one of the “World’s Greatest Places” for 2023.

Churchill made a list of 50 sites and it is being called the “Northern Wonder”.

American journalist Nicholas DiRenzo nominated Churchill after visiting the city in August and said he had an unforgettable experience.

“For wildlife experiences in North America, there is no other place that offers travelers such up-close, front-row views as Churchill,” DiRenzo said in a statement.

“Best of all, in an age of hyper-tourism, organizations at Churchill’s are innovating in creative ways that make you feel good about your impact as a visitor, from the new electric Tundra Buggy to real scientists— as well as conservation-oriented tourism.”

This comes after Winnipeg was selected by TIME in 2021 as one of the world’s 50 most extraordinary destinations.

Ferguson said, “Anybody who has been to Churchill knows it is a world-class place to visit.”
