CM said at the airport – we have given the land
The demand for an airport in Kota has been going on for a long time. Major hurdle in airport construction: Amidst the ongoing tussle between the state and the Center over the amount of diversion fee and line shifting, the CM in Kota said that the state has fulfilled its promise. Land has been given for Greenfield Airport, now the Central Government should come forward. The major task was that of land, the question of where to build the airport in Kota was not being done for forty years. Now the place has been decided, the state government has given the place, now they should come forward. Lok Sabha Speaker has a protocol and an ora. They should participate and take the work forward. They should communicate with the central government. Actually a new airport in Kota is proposed in Shambhupura. For this, after a long process, three years ago the state government gave consent for allotment of five hundred hectares of land and orders were also issued.
UIT also transferred the land in its account to the Airport Authority. Under the diversion of the remaining forest department land, UIT deposited the first installment of Rs 21 crore 13 lakh to the forest department. Now the airport case is stuck due to Rs 106.34 crore. This amount has to be paid to the Forest Department in lieu of diversion fee, two percent of the project cost and shifting of power grid lines.
