Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Patrakar Bhawan will be built in Malviya Nagar, Bhopal. Will give it a new look. It will be equipped with modern facilities. The Chief Minister made several announcements in the press conference held on Thursday at CM House.
He said that this time the insurance company has increased the premium amount by 27%. Paying the increased premium amount will create difficulty for many journalists, so we have decided that the premium amount will be taken as last year. The state government will bear the increased burden. The last date to apply for insurance is being extended from September 16 to September 25.
The Chief Minister claimed, ‘We are going to remain even after this election, but I will complete all these things already. Later also we will do the work of taking it forward.
State Media Center will be the new Patrakar Bhavan
CM said, ‘Patrakar Bhavan was demolished in Malviya Nagar. The land is lying the same. A resolution has come to my mind to give a new look to this building. This building will take the form of State Media Centre. There will be modern facilities for press conferences and other activities. Will make arrangements for library, canteen and whatever else may be needed.
CM also made these announcements
- The entire premium for the insurance of senior journalists above 65 years of age, their partner (husband or wife) will be paid by the government only.
- So far, the provision of financial assistance to journalists and their dependents for common ailments was Rs 20,000. It is being increased to Rs 40,000.
- For serious diseases, it will be directly increased from Rs 50,000 to Rs 100,000. If there is any other need then the government will take care of it.
- Till now, elderly journalists were given honor fund of Rs 10,000 per month. This is also being increased to Rs 20,000.
- On the death of the journalist who received the Samman Nidhi, a lump sum assistance of Rs 800,000 will be given to his wife.
- Under the Housing Loan Interest Subsidy Scheme, the maximum loan facility to accredited journalists will be increased from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh.
- If a loan is taken from the bank for the education of the son or daughter of a preferential journalist, then the state government will bear 5% interest subsidy for 5 years.
- Journalists from small cities and towns will be provided digital training. In this, cooperation of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication will be taken.
- Journalist protection law will be made. A committee will be formed for this. Journalists will also be included in the committee.
Will find a way to create colonies of journalists in the districts also
Recently we built two journalist colonies in Bhopal. Land allotted. When journalists meet in the district and other places also, they demand a colony. Some difficulties have come in between due to the decision of the Supreme Court, but we will find a way out and make arrangements to give land to the journalists where our society is located. We will find whatever legal option is available.
