Deoria (Uttar Pradesh), September 20 (Language) A police constable, who was checking vehicles, died after being hit by a car on Wednesday in Bhatni area of Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh. Police gave information about this.
Police sources here said that on Wednesday morning, near Keravania bridge of Bhatni police station area, constable Mahanand Yadav (28) and a home guard jawan tried to stop a car by putting up a barrier, but instead of stopping, the vehicle hit the constable.
Superintendent of Police Sankalp Sharma said that after the incident the driver left the vehicle and ran away. The constable was taken to the district hospital in a critical condition from where he was sent to Gorakhpur Medical College, but he died during treatment.
Sharma said that the family of the deceased in Ghazipur district has been informed about the incident. A case has been registered in this regard and action is being taken.
