Islamabad: The death toll in the suicide attack on a mosque in Police Lines in Peshawar rose to 72 with the recovery of nine more bodies on Tuesday.
Geo News quoted police as saying that the explosion took place in the mosque’s central hall, causing the roof of the place of worship to collapse while worshipers were offering prayers on Monday.
Police said the suicide bomber who blew himself up was in the first row.
The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the attack.
