Do not force people to buy soap and rice flour from ration shops – Minister warns IG News

The minister warned that no employees should be forced to buy soap and other items from ration shops.

Essential commodities such as rice, wheat, sugar palm oil, kerosene etc. are being provided to the public through fair price shops in Tamil Nadu. In this case, there is an allegation that employees are forcing the public to buy other items like soap and salt along with essential items in most of the shops.

Minister I. Periyasamy has warned that strict action will be taken if such public is forced. Cooperatives Minister I. Periyasamy inaugurated a new ration shop in Sitthyankottai, Dindigul district and distributed goods to the public.

Later, in an interview with reporters, he said that no employee should be forced to buy other items including soap from ration shops. Strict action will be taken against the ration shop employees if anyone forces them to do so. He said that the public can freely complain about this.
