Hingna, 15-20 friends went to Mohgaon Jhilpi Talab near Hingna to celebrate the birthday party. During the party, some friends went to the pond to wash their feet. During this, a young man died due to drowning in the pond. The incident happened around 5 pm on Sunday evening.
As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and searched for the youth but stopped the search operation due to darkness. On Monday morning, the fire brigade got success in taking out the dead body. The deceased was identified as Ashish Digambar Marathe (27). He was originally a resident of Bhandara. Presently Khapri was living in the rehabilitation colony and was working as a security guard in Amazon Company.
According to the information, around 2 pm on Sunday, 15-20 friends working as security guards in Amazon company came to Mohgaon (Jhilpi) pond complex to celebrate the birthday party of Pradeep Bawankar. After the party was over, Ashish Maratha went to the pond to wash his feet, but he drowned in the water because he did not know the depth. Atul Khadse and two other friends also ran to help him. But when Ashish went deep into the water, he got scared and came out of the pond. When Ashish did not come out, friends informed the Hingna police.
Police reached the spot. Assistant police inspector Dattatraya Wagh called the fire brigade squad. Employees of this squad, Dinkar Gaidhane and Sharad Dandekar searched for Ashish in the pond but did not succeed. The search operation was stopped due to darkness. The next day, on Monday, the search operation was started again at 6 am, then at around 9 am, Ashish’s dead body was found by the squad. The Hingna police sent the dead body to Hingna’s rural hospital for post-mortem after conducting a panchnama. The incident is being investigated by Assistant Police Inspector Telrandhe under the guidance of SHO Vishal Kale.
