Along with that, the number of people dying due to dengue is increasing. The State Public Works and Urban Development Department has expressed concern over the increasing dengue outbreak in the state.

In this situation, under ‘Pulse Mode Clean Activity’, all areas of the municipality should be cleaned on an urgent basis in two phases. The Department of Public Works and Urban Development issued guidelines in this regard on Thursday. Teams have been divided to manage the entire work.

The detailed details of how the work will be conducted during pre-puja and post-puja are mentioned in the guidelines. According to the guidelines of the Department of Public Works and Urban Development, in the first round, between September 26 and October 1, empty land drain water catchment areas of all municipalities of the state should be cleaned. In the second round, the area should be cleaned similarly between October 11 and October 16.

Officers of executive rank under each municipality will monitor the cleaning work. Special attention should be paid to cleanliness before and after Puja. The Victor Control Monitoring Officers shall visit the wards assigned to them. Officers of executive rank should see whether it is being cleaned on site and give a report.

In the wards where dengue infection is high, micro planning should be carried out. The directive also said that the Health Secretary and DHS district health officials will hold a meeting on dengue on Wednesday.
