Telangana CM KCR announced a new national party on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra festival. An official announcement was made to change the existing TRS (Telangana Rashtra Samithi) to BRS (Bharath Rashtra Samithi). With this, TRS is going to become BRS. With KCR’s announcement, the 21-year-old TRS took another turning point. In this regard, the TRS team went to Delhi to present the BRS resolution to the Central Election Commission. The team included Vice President of Planning Commission Boinapally Vinod Kumar and Party General Secretary MLC Srinivas Reddy. They said that they have handed over the copy of resolution of TRS party as BRS to Central Election Commission Deputy Commissioner Dharmendra Sharma. TRS leaders also explained that Dharmendra said that the Central Election Commission will examine that copy and take a decision soon. Moreover, he also gave clarity on the name of the party that will contest in Munugoda. He said that if the name is changed till Munugodu by-election, he will contest on it. Moreover, he said that Section 29-A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 says to change the name of the party. However, if any political party in the country changes its name and address, it has to inform the Central Election Commission, said the Vice President of the Planning Commission, Boinapally Vinod Kumar. When the media asked him that there are other parties with BRS…they are with abbreviations but the full name of the party is important, he said.
The EC will examine the resolution presented by the TRS leaders. EC will seek the concerned party if any clarifications are required. However, the Central Election Commission will examine whether there is such a name among the parties that have already been recognized with the same name. Also, the political party has to make an announcement in two major newspapers at the national level about the change of party name. If this is approved by the Central Election Commission, then TRS..BRS will become a party. And KCR is going to contest in other states in 2024 elections. It is known that they will move forward by including other regional parties that come with them. But KCR is thinking to come to power by including all other parties except BJP and Congress.
