Central Govt (Central Government) to farmers Financial security It is known that the Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM KISAN) scheme has been brought to provide this. Financial assistance has been given to farmers in 12 installments under this scheme which was started four years ago. 13th tranche funds will be released soon. Under the PM-KISAN scheme, the central government provides financial assistance of Rs.6,000 per annum to the landowning farmer families. This amount will be paid as crop investment in three installments of Rs.2,000 each.

However, the benefits of the Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme are still not available to many farmers. Nearly two crore farmers across the country have missed their last PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi installment of Rs.2,000. The Center disbursed Rs 22,552 crore to 10.45 crore farmers on May 31 last year as the 11th tranche of PM Kisan Nidhi. But it disbursed only Rs 17,443 crore to 8.42 crore farmers in the 12th tranche on October 17 last year. Almost 2 crore farmers have not benefited in this phase.

* States updating the database

Many farmers have not received PM Kisan cash due to non-updation of farmers’ land and beneficiary records in central databases. The Center has made this provision mandatory for transparency and to reduce frauds. With this, the respective state governments are working hard to update the records of farmers in the central database before the release of the next installment of funds this February.

* Rules to be followed

News18 has collected an order issued by the Uttar Pradesh government on January 13 in this regard. The Center has said that the upcoming 13th tranche of PM-Kisan Fund should be given only to farmers who fall under four conditions. Land record of the farmer is mandatory for benefit of this scheme. Farmers e-KYC should be completed in PM-Kisan portal.

Apart from that the Rythu bank account must be linked with Aadhaar. Finally there should also be a link to the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). It is reported that many farmers have missed their 12th installment payments due to these reasons.
