Extra coaches in long-distance trains to reduce passenger pressure during Puja IG News

Puber’s Pen Correspondent: During Puja, many people go here and there. As a result, there are many problems in getting train tickets. To eliminate this problem of common passengers, railways have already started some long-distance special trains from Kolkata Sealda or Howrah station. Indian Railways has already made a big announcement.

According to Eastern Railway, some new coaches or coaches will be added to various long-distance trains to reduce the pressure of additional passengers. Eastern Railway officials said that this initiative is so that the railway passengers can reach their destination well during Puja.

It is reported that a three-tier AC coach is being added to Durant Express from Howrah to Delhi. These additional coaches will be in effect from September 30 to October 10. Similarly, a sleeper coach is being fitted on the Howrah-Dun Express from Howrah to Yoganagari Rishikesh, which will run from September 29 to October 31. On the other hand, Down Dun Express will also have these additional coaches from October 1 to November 2.

Howrah-Mithila Express, Howrah-Roxall Express, Sealdah-Bikaner Durant Express, Sealdah-Jayanagar Gangesagar Express-Sealda, Alipurduar Kanchankanya Express, Sealdah to Agartala Kanchanjunga Express, Kolkata Gazipur Kolkata Shabadvedi Express, Kolkata-Haldibari Triweekly Intercity Express etc. Somewhere three or somewhere one AC or sleeper coach is being installed. These will be from the end of September to the end of October.

On the other hand, the opening and closing rules of the reservation ticket counter will be changed on those few days of Puja. According to the Eastern Railway, the railway reservation counters in Kolkata and Howrah areas usually work in two shifts. But during puja the counter will be open from 8 am to 2 pm. No counters will be open in the afternoon. However, current booking counters at Howrah-Sealda and Kolkata terminals will remain open in the same manner. It is known that this rule will be effective for Durga Puja, Kali Puja and Diwali on October 3, 4, 5, 24, 25.
