According to Environment Canada, freezing rain is expected on Wednesday across parts of northeastern Manitoba.

The weather agency issued a freezing rain warning for Oxford House and the Gods Lake area after 3pm CT Wednesday.

Environment Canada says unseasonably warm temperatures have helped produce a band of freezing rain affecting areas northeast of Lake Winnipeg. It is expected to move east-southeast throughout the day.

According to the warning, there could be a few hours of freezing rain at Oxford House and Gods Lake.

Environment Canada warns that freezing rain can make walking and driving difficult. Utility outages may also occur, and people are encouraged to have emergency kits ready.
