Global energy and fuel prices are not expected to fall globally, Khurram Dastgir said

Khurram Dastgir has said that global energy and fuel prices are not expected to decline globally.

Energy Minister Khurram Dastgir while addressing a press conference said that load shedding has taken place in the country more than expected.

He said that the tsunami of mismanagement had passed through this country and they were suffering the consequences of it when the government took over.

Khurram Dastgir said that from May 1 to May 12, zero recovery and good load shedding on low deficit feeders, some plants had to be shut down due to 300% increase in coal price.

The Energy Minister has said that Azab Imrani has not made payments to IPPs, has bought four loads of LNG, has provided us five ships of Furnace Oil, has solved the fuel shortage crisis.

He said that load shedding was taking place due to maintenance and repair of Haveli Bahadur Shah Plant.

Khurram Dastgir said that reduction in energy and fuel prices is not expected globally, more furnace oil will be procured to maximize power generation.

The Energy Minister said that the circular debt has reached Rs. 2460 billion. The Energy Division has a key role to play in negotiations with the IMF. There is coordination with the Ministry of Petroleum and Finance. We want to move towards balance and continuity in energy matters. ۔
