According to sources, a meeting of the Senate Finance Committee was held under the chairmanship of Salim Mandviwala where the budget proposal and recommendations related to the Finance Bill 2024 were reviewed.

At the meeting, FBR Chairman Amjad Zubirtwana said that action will be taken against retailers who do not use the POS invoice system. Businesses will be closed upon complaints of 3 illegal invoices in one day and 5 Issue in a week

The FBR chairman said that businesses or shops will be allowed to open after seven days after receiving a fine of 500,000.

Members complain that many retailers including restaurants Credit and debit cards are not accepted. Saleem Mandviwala also said that shopkeepers or restaurateurs pretend that the machine’s link is broken.

during the meeting Senator Cherry Rehman said that payments are not made using credit cards to purchase books. In England, payments are made using cards, even when buying sandwiches. The retailer’s machine is priced at Rs 30,000.

The FBR chairman said a business would be sealed if no one accepts credit or debit cards. Actions are taken based on complaints 3 times a day or 5 times a day from customers.
