Governor Balochistan Kakkar calls on NDMA Chairman Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik IG News

Islamabad: Balochistan Governor Abdul Wali Kakkar met Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Tuesday.

During the official meeting, Chairman NDMA apprised the Governor about the revamped National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC) being developed in line with future requirements for proactive mitigation and management of disasters.

Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik shared details about the functions of the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) as a national think tank under the NDMA umbrella, whose main task is to enable research exchange between institutions of Pakistan for collective benefit / To connect global academic experts with universities. of areas in the field of disaster management and mitigation.

The Chairman of NDMA also underlined the need to build up the capacity of PDMA to DDMA along with public awareness campaigns for local people as first responders.

Governor Balochistan appreciated the binding role of NDMA at the national level and its humanitarian efforts while mentioning the rescue-relief operations for Turkey and Syria.
