In the last 4 and a half years, a grant of Rs 1167 crore 52 lakh has been given to 62 thousand 690 farmers through the Solar Energy Pump Project in the state. With this, farmers no longer have to depend on the availability of electricity from Discom for irrigation of fields.
The government has given 60 percent grant to farmers for installing solar pumps in their fields and an additional grant of Rs. 45 thousand to farmers belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category. Along with this, 100% subsidy has been given to Scheduled Tribe farmers in Tribal Sub-Plan area on solar pump systems of 3 and 5 HP capacity. Agriculture and Horticulture Government Secretary Dr. Prithvi said that Rajasthan has been awarded at the national level for its better performance in agricultural planning operations. The state ranks first in the country in production of coarse grains, installation of drip, sprinkler, mini sprinkler plants, distribution of insurance claims to farmers, use of online crop harvesting and installation of solar energy pumps.

The government is giving subsidy up to 75 percent of the unit cost amount to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, small, marginal and women farmers for installing drip, mini sprinklers and sprinklers.
For other farmers, there is a subsidy of up to 70 percent of the cost. 5 lakh 33 thousand 668 hectares of land in the state is irrigated through this system. In the last 4 and a half years, a grant of Rs 1,71 crore 49 lakh has been given to 3 lakh 79 thousand 472 farmers for setting up irrigation plants. Through these plants, farmers are irrigating 5 lakh 33 thousand 668 hectare area in the state.
