If Sindh government does not take action against enemies of the people, the federation can intervene, says PM
Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that there is no shortage of essential commodities in the country, profiteers and hoarders are anti-people elements.
A review meeting on wheat and fertilizer stocks was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, in which Imran Khan said that the elements involved in profiteering and hoarding were enemies of the people.
He said that if Sindh government did not take effective measures against anti-people criminals then federal government could intervene.
Imran Khan further said that administrative action should be taken against the elements involved in hoarding, adding that there was no shortage of essential commodities in the country.
He said that action should be taken against the makers of these fertilizers who were making artificial shortage in collaboration with Mafia.
The Prime Minister also said that administrative and legal action should be taken against profiteers and hoarders.
He said that the PTI government had introduced farmer friendly policies and the mafia was engaged in profiteering instead of looking after the interests of the consumers.
Imran Khan said that immediate crackdown on fertilizer hoarders and action should be taken as per rules.
He said that track and trace system for sugar sector should also be used for fertilizer industry.
It was informed in the briefing given to the Prime Minister that there is a government stock of 6.6 million metric tons of wheat available.
