Nagpur. In a case registered under the NDPS Act in April 2019, the court of District and Sessions Judge PB Ghuge sentenced the accused to five years’ rigorous imprisonment, holding him guilty of smuggling MD drugs. The culprit was named Mrinal Mayur Gajbhiye (23), a resident of Anandnagar. A fine of Rs 25,000 was also imposed on Mrinal. Failure to pay the fine will result in further imprisonment of 3 months.

According to the information, on 21 April 2019, Mrinal was caught with 35 grams MD in Sitabardi police station area. This MD was kept in plastic zip lock polythene. On the complaint of API Sandeep Kale, a case was registered against Mrinal under the MPDS Act. Based on the evidence and statements presented before the court, Mrinal was convicted and sentenced the said sentence.
