Islamabad: Due to the fuel cost adjustment (FCA) for December 2022, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Tuesday cut the power price by Rs 2.31 per unit.
A reduction of Rs 2.20 per unit was requested in the application filed by the Central Power Purchasing Authority (CPPA). Napra Chairman Tauseef H. Farooqui announced the decision.
According to a CPPA spokesperson, 8.960 billion units of electricity was generated in December of last year. According to him, the reference price for electricity has been fixed at Rs. 9.31 for each unit, while last month’s price was Rs. 7.11.
Nepra reduced the electricity rate after hearing the application. Consumers will get relief in bills of Rs. 18.7 billion for January.
