Leading Indian poet, novelist, critic, journalist, translator and filmmaker Tabassum Fatima has passed away. Yesterday, her husband and well-known fiction writer Musharraf Alam Zauqi passed away after a short illness.
Tabassum Fatima, the wife of Musharraf Alam Zauqi, a well-known Indian fiction writer, could not bear the shock of her husband’s sudden death and one day after her death, she too passed away. She lived in Delhi with her husband and only son.
Tabassum Fatima did her MA in Psychology. She has been writing fiction, stories and articles in both Urdu and Hindi, which have graced popular literary magazines and newspapers. He has published several books in Urdu, including ‘But Not the Island’, ‘The Last Destination of the Stars’, ‘Black Clothes’, collections of stories, ‘I seek refuge’, and ‘Longing to walk away’. Yes, ‘The Last Sunshine of Your Thought’ are collections of his poetry. A collection of his fiction in Hindi was published in 2018.
He translated more than twenty books from Urdu to Hindi. They include stories and poetry.
Tabassum Fatima also hosted literary programs on Indian TV channels while in the field of film she made films on the art and life of more than fifty writers. Tabassum Fatima can be counted among those literary personalities who have been very active and dynamic in various fields of fine arts and literature and have done significant work. He has been awarded many literary awards and is also popular in the academic and literary circles of Pakistan and India for his creations.
