London: The international institution Times Higher Education has released a list of the best universities in the world, in which 16 universities of Pakistan have succeeded in making a place.
More than 500 of the world’s best universities for the year 2021 by Times Higher Education Ranking Was released in which Pakistan’s universities ranked on the basis of better performance.
In addition to international rankings, higher education also released regional rankings. Pakistani universities have emerged in Asia’s university rankings this year. According to the report, 16 universities of Pakistan are included in the list of best universities whereas a year ago this number was close to 12.
On June 2, the Times Higher Education list included universities on a number of grounds, including teaching, research, and teaching facilities.
Quaid-e-Azam University was ranked 100th, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan was ranked 124th and Comsats University was ranked 171st. Pakistan is ranked first, second and third in the list.
Other universities include University of Peshawar, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Government College University Faisalabad, Lahore University of Management Sciences, National University of Science and Technology (NUST), University of Punjab, Bahauddin Zakaria University, University of Engineering and Technology (Lahore). Government College University Lahore, Islamia University (Bahawalpur), PMAS, University of Sargodha, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore.
Last year, Quaid-e-Azam University was ranked 85th in Asia based on its teaching and research environment, up from 79th last year.
The Times Higher Education, an American organization, says that Pakistan’s representation in Asian universities is a good thing. This year, Pakistan has achieved better results on average.
The top ten includes four universities in China, three in Hong Kong, two in Singapore, and two in Japan.
