ISLAMABAD: The Atomic Energy Commission in collaboration with the Punjab Agriculture Board has developed two new varieties of soybeans, which can be grown in Rabi, Kharif.
According to the details, the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission has succeeded in developing new varieties of soybeans. In this regard, the spokesperson of the Atomic Energy Commission said that the proposed varieties also have better immunity against diseases.
The spokesman said that the Atomic Energy Commission had started research on soybeans in 2015 in collaboration with the Punjab Agriculture Board.
Shahid Riaz Khan said that the Chairman, CEO Punjab Agriculture Board visited Faisalabad and observed the proposed types of field trials in these institutions.
He said that sugarcane, soybean and then maize can be cultivated in the agricultural system for better production.
He further said that Pakistan imports one billion dollars worth of soybeans to meet its needs.
