RAWALPINDI: Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa while appreciating the services of health workers for eradication of polio from the country said that eradication of polio is a national cause and a national effort.
According to details, a statement issued by the Pakistan Army Public Relations (ISPR) said that Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa had a meeting with Christopher, Chairman of the Polio Oversight Board. Efforts and initiatives were discussed.
Appreciating the services of health workers for eradicating polio from the country, the Army Chief said that eradication of polio is a national cause and a national effort.
Christopher Ellis praised the Pakistan Army’s efforts to eradicate polio and appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to prevent corona.
Keep in mind that Pakistan is fast moving towards becoming a polio-free country, as the polio virus is rapidly disappearing from sewage water across the country.
According to sources, 93% of the sewerage lines in the four provinces have been cleared of polio virus. For the second time in two months, more than 90% of the sewers have been cleared of polio virus.
Sources said that polio test was carried out in the gutters of more than 60 places across the country.
