LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered the removal of actress Sofia Mirza’s ex-husband from the ECL.
According to ARY News, the Lahore High Court ordered to remove the name of actress Sofia Mirza’s ex-husband from the ECL and also directed to return the red warrant.
Justice Shujaat Ali Khan of the Lahore High Court heard the petition of the actress’ ex-husband Umar Farooq Zahoor in which the petitioner challenged the move to include his name in the ECL.
The Lahore High Court in its judgment ordered to remove the name of the petitioner from the ECL due to exemption on being a diplomat.
The court directed the federal government and other parties to comply with the court order and submit a report within three days and sought all the records of the case.
On the other hand, the public prosecutor said that all criminal proceedings against Omar Farooq were completed before he became Liberia’s ambassador.
The court directed that Omar Farooq’s name be removed from the ECL and action be taken to return the red warrant. The court also sought a detailed reply from all the parties.
