The man who slapped French President Emmanuel Macron has been sentenced to life in prison.
Upon arrival in the southern French region of Drum, the French president was meeting with the citizens behind the barrier when a receptionist slapped him in the face.
The detainee was identified as Damon Terrell, 28, who was influenced by nationalist right-wing ideologies.
The accused had subscribed to several extremist YouTube channels and was influenced by their thoughts and ideas. After a preliminary investigation, police said the accused had no criminal record and had never been arrested before.
Damon Terrell is affiliated with an ancient martial arts club and is also interested in traditional fencing. He also runs a local martial arts club.

The accused was produced before the court on charges of slapping a public figure, where the court today sentenced the accused to four months imprisonment.
A court in the southeastern city of Valencia also sentenced the accused to 14 months’ suspended sentence, a ban on running any government agency and carrying a weapon for five years.
