Former finance minister and PML-N leader Muftah Ismail has admitted that the government has not imposed any new tax in the budget.
Talking to ARY News, Muftah Ismail said that PTI’s tradition was to impose tax but it was not done. The government is not imposing direct taxes but indirect taxes will increase.
Muftah Ismail said that by reducing the tax on small vehicles, the government has benefited the car company. He thought that the government would increase the salaries by 20% but it did not do so.
He said that the present government has benefited due to Corona. Foreign exchange reserves have increased which is welcome. Due to Corona, travel has decreased due to which foreign exchange reserves have increased. I want growth to increase but it seems difficult.
Reacting, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said that if Muftah Ismail got out of the critical mood, he would appreciate the steps taken by the government.
