Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s Health Insurance Council says the employer will be entitled to cancel the worker’s medical insurance policy in four cases. According to the law, the employer has a responsibility to provide medical insurance to his worker and his family, even if the worker is serving on a probationary basis.
Saudi media quoted the Health Insurance Council as saying that the employer has the right to cancel the worker’s medical insurance policy in four cases.
The insurance policy can be canceled in case of death of the worker. In addition, the insurance policy of the worker can be canceled in case of final exit of the worker, relocation, employment elsewhere and change of insurance company.
Except in the above cases, the employer does not have the power to terminate the insurance policy given to his worker and his family. The law on providing medical insurance policy is mandatory.
Obtaining an insurance policy is conditional on the issuance and renewal of residency, a mandatory insurance policy requirement for domestic employees by the council.
The compulsory insurance policy for domestic workers also benefits family drivers, janitors and farmers and enables them to get better treatment.
It should be noted that after the outbreak of Corona virus, the condition of medical card has been abolished by most of the insurance companies in the country while the medical policy has been integrated with the residence number.
